The Best Christmas Ever!

I really did have a great Christmas this year, giftwise, at least! Not that other things were bad, except that I had a cold. I took some cold medicine and had a beer and could not stop laughing! I got a new camera from my darling bf, the Canon Elph, and so far I love it! Here are some pics I took with it:
This is one of the AWESOME presents my sister got for me. She gave me a giant bag filled with tons of scrapbooking goodies!

My camera will take a photo of one color (green) and the rest is black and white. I love this! I know there were editing programs to do that but it is amazing to look and take a shot of something that catches your eye. I haven't figured out how to chnge the color it shoots from green. Does anyone know how to do this?

This is the card I made for my dad for Hannukah:

This is the card I made for my sister, Batman Santa! She saw my last Batman card and wanted one so I had to made one that was slightly different because I really don't like making the same card twice.

Here is a card I made using mostly the December Card Kit from Treasured Scrapbooking.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and I wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year!

It's definitely beginning to look like Christmas!

Well, it's been a busy week and unfortunately not all of it was good. My boyfriend's brother passed away on Monday. He was 38 and had a heart attack. We went to Rhode Island on Monday, came back Tuesday, went back again on Friday and got back today. The drive there is usually 3 hours and it took us 10 hours! That was because of the ridiculous amount of snow and traffic. The roads in Connecticut were barely plowed, but at least we did make it there. I did manage to get a few projects done and I know that's what you are here for!
My first project is a recipe box that I made for my boyfriend's mother. It's the first one I ever made. The pp is all K & Co. And the ribbons are way too many to name!

Here is a cute litte mitten card sending "Warm wishes." The pp is all from Target $ spot.

And my final "masterpiece," is our small tree. We usually get a ginormous tree but we got a 4 ft tree and put it on a cabinet. Our tree topper doesn't light up anymore so I made this little bow and used some pipe cleaners.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Holidays!

Triple the Sketch #35 and more!

I've been slowly working on my holiday cards and I'm starting to think I may not have enough done. That's because I'm not a particularly organized scrapper. When I make a card, I put a whole bunch of stuff in front of me and play with it. Somtimes I have a kit I want to use, or certain papers or embellies as a starting point. Other times,I use sketches, but that doesn't help me decide what type of card I will make. That is because I usually make cards for no reason except that I want to create something. At least with holiday cards, I have a theme. Does anyone else work like this? I also shop for scrappy stuff like this too. I buy stuff i like and eventually figure out something to do with it it.

Fortunately sketch #35 from Triple the Sketch gave me some direction on this card! And I have been wanting to use this blingy Ho Ho Ho (Me and My Big Ideas)since I bought it last year.

It's been a while

I haven't posted anything here in so long! I hope someone missed me...anyone? LOL
I went to Rhode Island for Thanksgiving weekend, then this past week I was busy with work so I didn't get to do much crafting. I will show you the few things I made though. This cute little snowman card was inspired by both Danielle Flanders and Danni. They both made adorable snowmen with white buttons and I had to make one too!

This is another card I made using lots of BG Figgy Pudding that I love so much.

The next 2 cards are different for me because I am actually making more that one of the same design. I rarely do that but I had so much fun stamping the star image and then covering it in glitter that I wanted to make a bunch of them in every color glitter that I have. These are the cards that I'm using for my Paper Therapy card swap at Scrapbook.com. So if any of you are looking at these cards, you will be getting one similar from me, so if you want to be surprised stop looking now!

This one was made using my December card kit from Create My Keepsake.

Thanksgiving Cards

I got my Treasured Scrapbooking Nov card kit a few days ago and it was perfect to make Thanksgiving cards with. I also made 1 christmas card...and there is something wrong with it...but I will post it anyway...I ran out of rub on stitchin and have to buy more tomorrow. Or just learn how to use my sewing machine already...

This card is made for the Cardvaarks challenge which was based on a picture this time. I used CPS #92 for this so I guess it's for that challenge too.

This is the first gate card I've ever made! It's fun to make something other than a plain square or rectangle once in a while.

I've been tagged!

The fantabulous Heidi Van Laar has tagged me! As you can see above, I have posted the rules and here goes on 7 random facts about me:

1. As soon as I get into the house, I change out of my clothes and put on pjs. I don't understand how people wear anything but really comfy clothes unless they have to.

2. I love to read and my favorite genre is chick lit but I HATE chick flicks. I don't read much in the winter because I really only like to read outside; usually while on my float in the pool.

3. I don't eat any seafood at all. I don't eat much meat either. I like chicken and a burger but that's about it.

4. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY but am slowly becoming a surburbanite; I don't like when there is street noise, I get annoyed if someone parks on the street in front of my house and am sooo annoyed that they have rerouted traffic down my street so they can do roadwork!

5. I absolutely love flowers! I grew up in an apartment and a few years ago was the first time I was able to plant real live flowers in the first yard I ever had.

6. I do not cook. Every once in a while I will bake a cake (from a box) or make some pasta. I have cooked a few meals but I think it's too much work for the short amount of time we actually eat.

7. I really enjoy my career (criminal defense attorney) not only for the substance of it but because I am my own boss! I am terrible at working for someone and I never have to again!

Now, I have to try to find 7 people to tag....I know some have been recently tagged so I will name those that have not:

Ken
Jerusha
Jaime
Tammy

Well, that's 4 and that's all I have for now!

Challenge Cards

I have a bunch of things to post on my blog today because I've been so neglectful and must catch up. First, I know I promised a RAK a few days ago and I will post the winner tonight. If you're stopping by now, it's not too late to leave me a comment on the post below to get in on it! I will also be back because I was tagged! Yah my first time! Thank you Heidi!

But since I think I'm late with at least one of these cards, that is all I'm going to get to until later.

Cuttlebug Challenge
This week's challenge over at this amazing blog was to use the crayon resist method on embossing. You can learn how to do this on Mel's amazingly informative and creative blog.

2 Sketches 4 You
Here is my take on Laura's sketch 13

CPS 91

Paper Therapy
This card is for Paper Therapy challenge which was to use stitching on your card and not just a runner. I stitched around the tree and sewed on each of the "ornaments." I had to stitch a little bit of a border too!

That's all for now. Promise I'll be back tonight!

Let it Snow!

I haven't been able to do much crafting in the past few days but luckily today I will have some time to get some done. Last night I finished my card for the Paper Therapy challenge over at Scrapbook.com.

The only other thing I have to post is a pic of all of my awesome deals at Amazing Savings. My sister came for the weekend, as she frequently does, and we went scrappy shopping. She is into scrapbooking but is apparently a little embarrassed by it. So hopefully none of the famous people she gets to work with will see this! LOL. She really does work in movies as a P.A. That means she does all the grunt work, running around a million hours a week but she truly loves it! Right now she is working on Life on Mars. It really is a good show. She also worked on the Sex and the City movie. Anyway, ode to My Sister Sam is done. I did make a mini album of her work in the movies and I think I'll post that here again too!

So, for those of you who managed to stay with me during my rambling and are jealous of the goodies I got (even the basket and paper holder for $38) I will once again share my stuff with you! Tell me one thing about any sibling or other family member and I will draw a random number and share my stuff with you! Looking forward to hearing some good stuff!

Thank you guys so much for taking the time to leave me such sweet comments and sharing your favorite superhero! Just so you know, mine is Wonder Woman! I used to have the Underoos and I think Jaime and her brothers did too! (See comments below) Well, mayber her brother didn't have Wonder Woman...And without further blabbing by me, the winner of the RAK is:

Here are your random numbers:

WENDY!
I already have your address so expect a package from me early next week!

I was hoping to have a card to show you but alas my mojo is not what my mojo should be. :( I have to make a Sweet 16 card and I was sure that would be easy and girly but...NOTHING. I do have something to share with you. I made it for a friend's birthday. The pics aren't great but that's all I have.

The hearts are felt and most of the embellies are K & Co. Thanks for stopping by!

Nanananananana.....BATMAN!!

In exchange for a fabulous handbag, I made 5 cards for Lisa, the wonderful woman who hosted the Purse party I went to a week or 2 ago. Two of the cards were for boys....so hard! One was....you guessed it...BATMAN! I wasn't quite sure about it but I really like it! Here it is:

I also had to make her a birthday card that she will give to her son for his 10th birthday. For this, I used CPS Sketch 90. It really was a challenge!

And finally for today, I want to show you the most fabulous deal I've gotten on scrapbooking goodies in a long time! I went to Big Lots today and got this ginormous package of goodies for $12! I soooo love getting good deals. I also like to share, so I'm offering up some of these goodies to you. As you can see, there are 2 or more of just about everything. All you need to do is post a comment and tell me your favorite superhero, and I will randomly select one of you to send some yummy stuff to!

Thanks for stopping by; leave a comment...I'm off to go play with all those goodies now!

Cuttlebug Sketch Challenge

I have been using my Cuttlebug more and more, mostly because of the fabulous ideas I have found on so many blogs. Last week, over at the Cuttlebug challenge blog, was to emboss on a metallic material and this week's challenge was a sketch. I combined both and made this Christmas card:

I got the idea to cover cardstock with aluminum foil and then emboss it somewhere are this awesome blog: http://melstampz.blogspot.com

I also made this cute little card for a girl's 1st birthday. It was also made for my die cut challenge at scrapbook.com.

Card Kit Swap

i joined a great group over at
It's called Paper Therapy and we just did a card kit swap. Here are the cards I posted with my adorable kit from Tammy:

I got a few orders for Christmas cards and I've been making them almost non-stop for days. I'm waiting to get my order of Basic Grey Figgy Pudding papers so that I can make almost all of my cards. I love that paper!! Here's what I've done so far:
