It's a Rainbow!

I've been very much into rainbows lately and I wanted to do something a little different so I made a shaped card. I didn't want to use solid colors so I used the amazing Cosmo Cricket Early Bird collection. I used rub-on stitching and rub ons for the sentiment on each cloud. To get the shape I found a rainbow image online and sized it, the card is actually a bit large, I think it's about 9" long. I cut the clouds from some handmade specialty that I've had. I popped them up slightly; added flowers, buttons, gems and viola! Here is a close up of each cloud:

I'm thinking of submitting it next week at the CKC convention in Valley Forge. It has to be a birthday card and I'm going to make a few more and I would love it if you would tell me what you think. As of now, I'm considering this card and my manly star card from my previous post.

Thanks for visiting me and please leave me a comment with your choice! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Another card...woo hoo!

I got my Treasured Scrapbooking card kit today and was so happy that my mojo has returned and I made a card! The super terrific Eva had a challenge on the forum to use stars so I combined that with another challenge. I used the sketch for this week's Cuttlebug #40 challenge and I even used the new Herringbone embossing folder. The bonus folder was the Textile folder that I love but for some reason don't have but since the DT used herringbone, I copied and used it too! It really is great for "manly" cards. I would say that this one is manly. You can tell them from my girly cards because they almost all have stars instead of flowers...I'm so clever! hee hee. Here is the whole card:

I told you that my sister and I went to the State Fair last week and I wanted to share this hilarious picture of the two of us on the "vicious" Mouse Trap roller coaster. My sister was terrified and had her eyes closed and I kept laughing and screaming and telling here when the next big dip was even though she closed her eyes so she wouldn't know. Tee hee! It really was fun until we went on a ride that spun far too much and my stomach was not pleased.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Card Patterns 24

Yay! I made a card! I was having mojo issues and it was driving me crazy! I went to Target yesterday and bought some really cute papers from the dollar section and it finally inspired me to make a card. I really liked the sketch at Card Patterns this week and I was finally able to do something with it!I used my new Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder on the red paper. I got all of them last week from HSN. They are just fabulous! The sentiment is a WRMK rub on and I used red flocking but I think it needs more. Well, that's all for today. I'm starving and dinner is waiting!

Card Patterns 22

It's been beautiful the past few days! Tonight my sister and I are going to the State Fair. I love the tilt-a-whirl and can't wait to go on! I will be devasted if they don't have it there. Anyone have interesting weekend plans?
I made this card for this week's Card Pattern's sketch challenge. I used the fabulous Cosmos Cricket Girl Friday collection. The lollipops were made using a clear stamp I got from Michael's dollar section and then glitered. I cut a piece of a skewer for each of the lollipop sticks.

I also wanted to share this cute little flower pot card I made last week. It is the first one I ever made and it was so much easier than I had expected. Here is the tutorial I used.

Happy July 4th!

Ok, so I'm a day late; what's new, I'm always late! Oh well, hope everyone enjoyed their day yesterday. We had a small bbq here and took a walk around the street fair that was in our town yesterday. Today is a bbq at someone's house. It's was beautiful yesterday and so is today. Woo hoo!
Anyway, here is the card I made to bring to the bbq and it was made for the Cuttlebug Challenge blog Red, white, blue, buttons and swiss dot embossing folder challenge. I've never made a card for July 4th before so it was fun! The little pom poms are party picks that I picked up a long time ago just waiting to use. I made the little stars using grungeboard stars and glitter. I loooove glitter! :) I also used a shortcuts frosted base for the card. The paper is MME Bohemia Bliss collection.

2 Sketches 4 You 29& CPS 122

I've been working on a few challenges this week and am here to share them with you. I am just so thoughtful aren't I? ;)
The first card uses Laura's fabulous sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I have been into making trees lately; not sure why but they are fun to make! I cut this one out of K&Co Carlyn Gavin Greenhouse Mat pad. I looove all of these papers! I popped it up on foam dots and stuck a few Candy dots by Pebbles on some of the leaves. I cut my sentiment from my Cricut using the Walk in My Garden Cart. The stitching is a K&Co rub-on (of course!) that I nabbed in the clearance section at Michael's and would looove to get more of soon. This is the most realistic looking stuff I've ever used. Anyhoo, here it is, and the cute little owl on top is on the inside of the card.

This card is made using CPS 122, which was a very simple sketch. I love this paper that I've had forever; the velvety pink polka dots are so yummy! So it was perfect to show it off with this sketch. I'm not in love with the stitching I did (this time it was handstitched) but it is there to stay now.

That's all for tonight. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
