Card Patterns 16

The sun is gone and the rain has returned; hopefully only for a short time. I thoroughly enjoyed my pool and the sun this weekend. I had to go to work today which felt strange since I hadn't worked in over a week...oh, well vacation is over.
I made this card using Card Patterns sketch #16 and my May card kit from Treasured Scrapbooking. It is also for my Paper Therapy group who was challenged to use stitching. I stitched. By hand. Some day I'll learn how to use my sewing machine.
The "laugh" rub on didn't go on quite right.

I also have another picture of a rose for you.

And in fairness to my other kitty Duncan, since I posted a picture of Celia last time, here is a picture of him hiding under the lounge chair. The camera must have startled hime because his ears are back and it makes him look kinda goofy. So cute!

2 Sketches 4 You #26

I haven't done much crafting lately and it's torture! I got my 2 great kits in the mail and couldn't do much with them until today. I used my Creating Keepsakes kit to make this card using Laura's Sketch #26 at 2 Sketches for You. It's almost all Sassafrass except the green paper which is prima. The ribbon is from my stash.

Here are a few pictures of flowers from my backyard. The roses bloomed in the past day or two and are just gorgeous.

And finally, here is my little cat Celia hiding in the rose bushes keeping cool:

Happy Birdday!

The weather has gotten better and I'm thrilled! We're going to Florida tomorrow night for a long weekend to visit my grandma and I'm soooo happy I will get to go in the pool! And I've also noticed in the back of my magazines just how many scrapbooking stores are down there so perhaps I'll get to do a little shopping too...
Anywho, onto the cards! I made this "Happy Birdday" card just for fun. These We R Memory Keepers White out papers are so bright. I cut out 2 paislies to make the bird stickled his wing a bit, and I just had to stick a googly eye on him. I used my Cricut Storybook cart to make the scalloped circles (the entire reason I bought it) and then hand stiched around the edges. I used my Jasmine cart for the first time ever to create the sentiment.

Our Paper Therapy group on Scrapbook.com was challenged to create a Christmas gift card holder. I am so challenged to make Christmas things out of season but after seeing this created by the very talented Kay, I couldn't wait to make one either!

As you know, I often see animals around here and take pictures of them, and last night was no exception; except that the animal wasn't odd in kind; just in location. I looked out on my deck and there was another cat there. And my cat Duncan, just sitting behind him doing nothing. It was just so odd because he looked so comfortable sitting there like it was his house. Weird. Maybe Duncan made a friend. Here he/she is:

That's all for today; thanks for stopping by!

Let the sun Shine in

Please, please let the sun shine again soon! Today is the first day that it's not raining in about a week and it's cloudy. And it's supposed to rain again. Tonight. Tomorrow. All weekend! Argh! There is a bright side though, there will be lots of flowers soon and I can stay in and craft.
That brings me to this card. It is a round card and I am very challenged when it comes to making round cards. This one was made over the course of 5 days. It is the perfect sentiment for now! It is also the first time I ever used crackle paint. I love this stuff! I painted the chipboard star; inked it and then painted it with a layer of crackle paint and I love the effect!

Another first for me-I just signed up for the Creating Keepsakes convention in Valley Forge, PA the end of July. I've never been to a convention and I've never taken a class. I'm taking 3 classes and I'm so excited! Is anyone else going to this?

Thanks for stopping by!
Michelle :)
