Cuttlebug Challenge #20

This week's Cuttlebug Challenge is a sketch challenge and it was such a fabulous sketch that there was no way I was going to forget to do it. I love how it came out and I am staring at while I am typing. I know, I know, I am quite the multi-tasker. hee hee. I fussy cut the flowers because I love to do that and used pop dots for dimension.

Materials:
pp: Fancy Pants Simplicity - Shape; Dream Street Hugs n kisses "airmail" and "hugs"; Love Elie Claire Corsage, Michael's Kraft; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, Colorbox in, Prima Say it in Chrystals, Sentiment - The paper co flowers and Frills rub on, Stickles - Stardust; unknown ribbon
I was also asked to make 25 Earth Day cards for an order. These will be my first cards to be sold in a store! It is a spa and it is and organic place, so she wanted something natural. Here is the first card I made and I'm sure most of them will be similar. They'r going to have to be or else I'll never finish them!

Grungeboard Birthday Card using Card Patterns #2

I found another great new sketch challenge blog sometime last week while I was blog hopping. The blog is Card Patterns and I used this week's sketch to create this card for my friend Kelly Anne that I know from Scrapbook.com. She has a vintagey style so I wanted to make something in that style (or close to it) even though I have never done that. I'm fairly certain she doesn't visit my blog so i'll post it here. But Kelly Anne if you do stop by, please don't look! Here is what I came up with:

Materials: Tim Holtz Grungeboard brackets;pp-K&CO,Michael's kraft paper,Fancy Pants, SR afterthoughts rub ons; MM Teal Ledger alpas, Fancy Pants fiber, K & Co. Classic k Baily chipboardbracket, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, Colorbox cats eye ink, starlight topcoat

I loved the grungeboard!! I would describe it as elastic chipboard. It has a smell to it, kind of leathery and I like it. It reminds me of a family trip to Lake George NY, or DisneyWorld, or something like that and being in a gift shop looking at Native American leather products. I love that I can't rip it; it was fun to ink and sand and I'm going to get more of it!

Thanks for stopping by!

2 Sketches 4 You and Cuttlebug Challenge combined

I went shopping at Michael's yesterday i got some fabulous new goodies to play with. I got the 12x12 collection of BG Urban Prairie, MS lace doily punch, Cuttlebug alphabet "Harmony" (on sale for half price!); and a few other things. Unlike most times, I used a bunch of what I bought the very same day. I really liked Kazan's sketch #20 at 2sketches4youthis week so I used it. The Cuttlebug Challenge blog has a "mellow yellow" challenge so I used those colors and the sketch and here it is:

The little birdies were cut from the BG pp. I used the Cuttlebut Houndstooth embossing folder for the tag and I used my new alphas for the sentiment.

A baby book and some blog candy

I'll start today with the adorable little book I made for my friend's son. I remember seeing someone else make a cute little book on one of my many blog-hopping excursions and thought the idea was very cute. Since it's all made of paper, if he actually uses it I'm sure it will be full of drool and pieces will be missing but that's fine. Here it is:

I wish I could remember who made the paper that I cut all the animals from because I love it! Almost all the other pp is BG Granola. Lots of alphas - Thickers, Making Memories (cover), and more that I don' know the name of.

And now, onto the blog candy!! My friend Wendy is giving away a Scor-Pal! I soooo hope I win. Go check it out...she does some amazing work too!

My friend Jerusha is giving away some adorable Riff Raff chipboard embellies! If you have never seen them, check them out because they are way cute!
To be entered, I must tell you about my first scrapbooking experience. It wasn't all that long ago; it was in June of 2007. I began making a 12x12 Wedding scrapbook for our upstairs neighbors. I was in the basement, on the floor and made a few pages. It was soooo much fun! I used pieces of their cards and there was lots of glitter everywhere! I have obviously not stopped scrapping since then. Nothing much has changed except that I use a desk now and usually make cards and smaller books.

Well, that was a long post and I'm done! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Cuttlebug Challenge #17 - Love!

This week's Cuttlebug Challenge is to use a Love theme...it is almost impossible not to create a card using that theme right now! And how much better is a card when you use your Cuttlebug Embossing folders? Here they are:

This is the first time I ever used a Magnolia Stamp. I know they don't have mouths; I don't know why and it kinda freaks me out a bit so I had to draw a smile on her face. If anybody has any info/comments on Magnolia stamps, please feel free to leave it here for me.

Next is a card I made for my boyfriend to give his 17 year-old son for Valentine's Day...quite a challenge! I used BG Granola pp, Houndstooth Embossing folder and MM Passport trim, Fancy Pants felt, unknown gem and chipboard heart (came in a Treasured Scrapbooking card kit).

Finally, this card uses a cute stamp and sentiment that Jerusha sent me and the Swiss dots (my favorite!) Cuttlebug embossing folder. I think the cardstock is from her as well, and it may be Core'dinations cardstock.

I have more to say but this post has taken me an hour already because I had a dinner break in the middle. I'll be posting again tomorrow. Good night!

2 Sketches 4 You Kazan's Sketch #19

My trial is over and I can get back to making cards again! Woo hoo! I really do enjoy trials; it's the best part of my job. It really makes me think and sometimes I am amazed that I can speak to so many people and once without being nervous. I remember when I was in high school the prospect of speaking in front of the class was terrifying. I suppose now I am way more confident than I was when I was 16 and really know what I'm talking about because make sure that I'm prepared. There usually is someone's liberty at stake. Anyway, enough of this non scrappy talk, on to my most recent card!

I made this card using another one of Kazan's fabulous sketches at 2sketches4you.

Just about everything I used came from the January kit from Treasured Scrapbooking. The larger green heart is Fancy Pants chipboard that I covered with SEI glittery linen and then inked the edges.
pp - American Crafts Romance, With Love & First Love; AC Everyday 'allo
Jenny Bowlin Crepe Paper Ribbon - Turquoise
Alphas- Pink Paislee Fashion Script White

I was fortunate enough to get my first blog award! Wendy was sweet enough to give this award to me. I will be back either later today or tomorrow with my award and hopefully a few new cards!

Thanks for stopping by!
Michelle :)
